I was watching CNN and I just saw some horrible news...
John Spencer, who plays former Chief of Staff turned V.P. Candidate Leo McGarry, has died of a heart attack at age 58.
John Spencer co-starred in the West Wing since the first season, playing the Chief of Staff of President Josiah "Jed" Bartlet, who is played by Martin Sheen.
For those who watch the show will remember that last year, Spencer's character, Leo McGarry, suffered a heart attack just after resigning his post, but then came back as a consultant, then as V.P. Candidate to Presidential Candidate Matthew Santos, played by Jimmy Smits.
Spencer's other T.V. credits include L.A. Law and Trinity, while his film credits include Presumed Innocent, The Rock, and the Negotiator.
He will be missed.
